Last updated: 8 July 2026
Hovpn is a browser proxy client operated by Mohsen (ebmohsen.com) under the Hovpn brand. This policy explains exactly what Hovpn does and does not do with your data.
Data we collect
None. Hovpn has no user accounts, no analytics, and no telemetry. We operate no servers that receive your data through the extension.
Data stored on your device only
- The server profiles and subscription URLs you add are stored locally in your browser on your own machine. They are never transmitted to us.
- Your settings (proxy port, bypass list, theme) are stored locally.
- The local helper writes a runtime configuration and log file under your own user folder (
~/.hovpnon macOS/Linux,%LOCALAPPDATA%\Hovpnon Windows).
Network connections Hovpn makes
- To your proxy server(s), as configured by you — this is the core function.
- To your subscription URL, when you add or refresh a subscription, to download your own server list. This request is made by the local helper.
- To GitHub / nodejs.org, only during installation of the helper, to download the proxy engine and runtime.
Hovpn does not send your browsing activity anywhere except through the proxy server you selected.
